Simextra International NV was established in 1994 by mr. K. Soekhoe under the name “K. Soekhoe Import, Export & Transit. The first office and rented warehouse were in the Nickerie district, Suriname, and provided the local market with basic goods such as edible oil and sugar. The range was soon expanded due to the demand for high-quality consumer goods. In 1996 the company form was changed to a public limited company and renamed to "Simextra International NV". A remarkable milestone was reached on November 23, 1999 with the opening of its own office with extensive warehouse capacity. With an already extensive range of food, non-food and alcoholic beverages, a market expansion took place in 2005 to a small office and warehouse in the capital Paramaribo. A second office and warehouse were soon opened on the Tweede Rijweg in Paramarbo. This new, larger location still functions as the hub for all sales and distribution within the area. NICKERIE DUTY FREE FROZEN WAREHOUSE PARAMARIBO PARAMARIBO In 2013, Simextra International opened its first Duty Free Shop at the ferry connection between Suriname and Guyana. This border post is the only water / land crossing between the two countries and is therefore a unique opportunity for product expansion and sales. The Duty Free Shop covers 360 square meters (excluding storage) and offers attractive quality products, such as alcohol, perfume, bags, watches, toys, sweets and small household appliancesDue to the large market potential in neighboring neighboring Guyana, it was decided in 2013 to open a subsidiary under the name Simextra Trading. This was the first foreign company to introduce the full product range to a new and unknown market. Simextra International NV now functions as a management company for Simextra Distribution, Simextra Trading and Simextra Duty Free. The business processes of logistics, finance, IT and management are fully implemented and under constant evaluation to guarantee quality and efficiency.
