President Ali aims to train 6,000 for Guyana's hospitality industry by 2024

To keep up with Guyana's rapid development, President Dr. Irfaan Ali has set an ambitious aim of training and hiring 6,000 people in various hospitality-related fields by the end of 2024. In Regions Two, Four, and Six, at least seven hotels with foreign brands have been built, including Courtyard by Marriott, Four Points Marriott, AC Hotels Marriott, and Sherriff Hotel, among others. The lack of workers, especially in the construction industry, has been a major problem for the country. President Ali indicated that it was difficult to locate workers and that those who were employed weren't always present, which resulted in problems with production and discipline. The government is creating a "holistic worker" plan to improve employees' life outside of pay, productivity, and discipline in order to address this issue. The President has urged patience as he works to implement this program, which he hopes would allow people to retire with dignity.
