Ms. Yeşim Oruç, United Nations Resident Coordinator

The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development is about progress for all. Through prudent public investments in SDG enabling sectors such as health, education, infrastructure, and climate resilience, Guyana’s rapid economic growth promises to significantly accelerate progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

We are excited to see new achievements reported across the SDGs in Guyana, including expanded access to water and sanitation (SDG 6), sustainable energy production and consumption (SDG 7), investments in infrastructure (SDG 9), affordable housing (Goal 11), and international cooperation (Goal 17). The United Nations will continue to support national efforts to leave no one behind.
