Discover Essequibo Circuit Development Project launched by tourism stakeholders, THAG, and GTA

Recently, the Discover Essequibo Circuit Development Project was launched by the Tourism and Hospitality Association of Guyana (THAG) in collaboration with the Guyana Tourism Authority (GTA) and Target Euro consulting firm. The project was launched with the involvement of stakeholders from the Essequibo Coast and Bartica regions. During the initial phase of the project, significant emphasis was placed on product development. This involved evaluating the current product and service offerings of the region while also identifying potential opportunities for new products and visitor flows. The project involved stakeholder engagement meetings in Anna Regina and Bartica, where crucial aspects such as the purpose of the circuit, its operations, current challenges, and strategies to overcome them were discussed. Moreover, representatives from Compete Caribbean, a program focused on private sector development, joined the team during their visit to Bartica. Moving forward, the team will prioritize follow-up field assessments, developing new products, conducting training sessions, and improving the governance structure to effectively manage the tourism clusters.
